||Richmond Community Orchestra's Fall Concert
If you like "Star Trek," you can hear theme music from various "Star Trek" shows and movies performed live for free.Richmond Community Orchestra will perform its fall concert 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29 at Earlham College's Carpenter Hall. In addition to the "Star Trek Through The Years" medley, those attending can hear a variety of other types of music, including the finale from Mendelssohn's "Symphony No. 5," "Bacchanale" from "Samson and Delilah," "The Light Calvary Overture" and "Procession of the Sardar."The concert is FREE to the public, although donations are welcome to support the orchestra’s Strings Initiative program offering free violin instruction to local children. The orchestra hopes to encourage all ages to feel comfortable to attend a relaxed concert setting.Membership in the orchestra is free, and is open to musicians of all ages. Current members range from high school students to those well past retirement.
